Ayrshire and southern Scotland offer the visitor lots of things to do and see including the historic castles of Culzean and Blairquhan, the Robert (Rabbie) Burns' Cottage and Heritage Centre in Alloway and his House and grave in Dumfries (our world famous local poet whose name adorns our Lodge). The seaside county town of Ayr with long sandy beaches offers an excellent range of attractions, shops, bars, cafes and restaurants.

For keen golfers there are world famous courses including Turnberry (20 minutes drive) Royal Troon (40 minutes drive) and Prestwick (30 minutes drive). For those who enjoy other forms of outdoor activity Balbeg sits on the edge of the Galloway Forest Park, home to some of the UK's best walking and cycling and some of the world's finest mountain biking trails.
